Intu It Parenting and Wellness offers a more holistic form of counseling that is different than other forms of traditional therapy. While others may only address healing of the mind, Intu It Parenting and Wellness also offers counseling to address the body and spirit.  It is fundamental to create an overall balance in all areas of wellness and to become better ourselves by getting the healing and therapy we need in order to be better for our children.

Christina Carter is the founder and CEO of Intu It Parenting and Wellness and has always been fascinated and passionate about the science and cause of particular human behaviors. She earned her B.A. in Psychology from Elon University, and discovered that in many cases, the majority of issues that children suffer from are the result of their parents. Carter is a positive psychology based practitioner and Certified Relationship Specialist for the parent child relationship.

She earned her Master’s degree from Southeastern Louisiana University in 2014 in Psychology, and is dedicated to helping parents identify negative and ineffective behaviors that contribute to the unwanted behavior of their children.  Carter finds it to be one of the most rewarding experiences to witness the transformation of the parent-child relationships she has worked to heal.

Intu It Parenting and Wellness promises to do their best to provide you with the tools you need to be successful with your child and with therapeutic services. You are guaranteed to enjoy the result of a better relationship and to witness better behavior and patterns of communication with your child.  Don’t waste another day, contact Intu It Parenting and Wellness today to make an appointment for one-on-one counseling.

Types of services provided: Child counseling, Parenting counseling, Parent/child relationship counseling, and Lifestyle wellness.

What sets Intu It Parenting and Wellness apart from other counseling services: the focus is on getting back to basics, strengthening the parent/child relationship and connection, and focusing on a variety of play-based approaches that are fun, engaging, and effective for children.

Intu It Parenting and Wellness is built around the inspired idea that child behavior problems may have the potential to significantly decrease if children were better connected to and understood by their parents. Furthermore, conditions such as ADHD, anxiety, and depression could be reduced with therapy focused on getting back to basics, learning communication skills, and emotionally connecting parent and child together.

For this to be deeply effective, Intu It Parenting and Wellness practices a holistic approach. Mental, behavioral, and physical issues generally stem from a deeper dysfunction, and also affect many areas of life. Taking a holistic approach addresses issues from their root, and considers the entire being as a whole, in mind, body, and spirit.

Due to therapy's sometimes uncomfortable nature, Intu It uses a variety of play-based approaches and creative-expression techniques that are fun, engaging, and effective for children, including positive psychology interventions, resiliency tools, mindfulness skills, visualization and breathing techniques, strategic games, movement, art, role-playing, stress management and self-regulation, emotional-release techniques, and sensory activities involving essential oils, lava bracelets, therapeutic sand and dough.

Issues that Intu It Parenting and Wellness specializes in include anxiety, anger, emotion release and regulation, resiliency, self-regulation, bullying, self-esteem, expression and communication, social skills, defiance, attention-seeking behaviors, bedtime routines, effects of divorce, family dynamics, tolerance training, perfectionism, power struggles, connecting parent and child, setting goals and boundaries, and helping parents become mindful and empowered.
